Thousands of Filipino fans filled SM MoA Arena with cheers as their favorite YouTubers took the stage at YouTube FanFest last May 26.
On it’s 5th year, YouTube FanFest brought 15 homegrown creators as well as international stars Alex Wassabi and Matt Steffanina.
Although the weather was a bit gloomy on the day of FanFest, fans still roared with energy. You could feel their love and excitement for their favorite online creators.
Here’s a rundown of all the electrifying and exciting moments from YouTube FanFest 2019:
The awesome booths
Before the show even started, everyone at the MoA Arena was already having fun. Interactive booths from YouTube and its partners such as McDonald’s, Modess, and Globe had guests taking lots of photos.
When hosts Lloyd Cadena, Baninay Bautista, and Raiza Contawi hit the stage, the crowds roared with excitement. These hosts not only made the night fun, but they also kept the spirit of YouTube alive with little games in between performances. Believe me when I say, there wasn’t a dull moment with these guys on the mic. On another note, Lloyd’s wacky outfits stole the show.
One word that best describes the show these online creators put on is explosive. Each performance made the crowd go wild.
Beauty gurus Hannah Kathleen, ThatsBella, and Rei Germar showed everyone that they’re more than just pretty faces. They sang and danced their hearts out on stage to the thousands in attendance.
However, they weren’t the only ones who showed off their moves. YouTubers Ken San Jose, Ranz Kyle and Niana Guerrero, JaMill, Riva Quenery, Pamela Swing, and Andrea Brillantes wowed the crowd with their performances. Actor Donny Pangilinan and singer Laavaado made an appearance at the show as well.
FanFest also featured other kinds of performances. The show highlighted tech guru Brains techKnowlogy and his cool gadgets, too. Additionally, Hype Streetball showed off their skills in dribbling and freestyling with basketballs. YouTube star Alex Wassabi even tried his hand at freestyling.
Continuing with the dance performances, YTFF veteran Matt Steffanina shared the spotlight with dancers AC Bonifacio and Ken San Jose.
Capping off the night was a surprise performance from singer Reneé Dominique.
“The Filipino YouTube community is one of the most active communities on YouTube. We’ve seen an immense growth in numbers for many local and foreign creators and that is why it is always a pleasure to host YouTube FanFest here. More than just entertainment and connecting with fans, YTFF is also a celebration of talents that inspire the new generation,” said Marc Lefkowitz, Head of YouTube Creator and Artist Development for APAC.
