MIPOW, known in the Philippines for their power banks, unveiled yesterday their PlayBulb series of Bluetooth-enabled color-changing smart LED lights. At the launch in EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, MIPOW's vice president and head of global sales and marketing, Bon Lam, gave a demonstration of light manipulation in the techiest and most colorful way, eliciting oohs and aahs from the press in attendance. The PlayBulb lights aren't your regular LED lights. They can display up to 256 colors, and are Bluetooth-enabled to allow your iOS or Android device to control light color, brightness, and effects through the PlayBulb X app, which can be downloaded for free. Via the app, you can group together up to five PlayBulb products and control them as one, and have multiple groups as well.

To highlight Volkswagen’s highly efficient, eco-friendly turbocharged diesel (TDI) engine variants and its equally powerful and economical TSI engines, Volkswagen Philippines held the second leg of the Fuel Eco Fun Run last November 20 with its partner, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum. The second leg was participated in by a mix of media and existing Volkswagen owners of the Polo, Touran, and Beetle, and each competed to set the record for the most economical fuel mileage achieved. The results were verified by Antonio Basco and Alexis Matel Carlos, representatives from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Division of the Department of Energy.
